Les Cayes LLC dba Jou Jou’s Caribbean Cuisine

These Terms and Conditions govern all catering services and food truck bookings provided by Les Cayes LLC, doing business as Jou Jou’s Caribbean Cuisine (“Jou Jou’s,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking our services, you (“Client”) agree to the following terms.
Booking and Deposits
A signed contract and deposit are required to secure your event date. Your date is not confirmed until both are received.
- Catering Events: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book. The remaining balance is due 7 days before the event.
- Food Truck Bookings: A flat booking fee or deposit (amount specified in your quote) is required to reserve the truck. Remaining balance is due on the day of the event.
We accept payment via credit card, debit card, cash, or electronic transfer.
Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellations 30+ days before the event: Deposit is non-refundable, but may be applied to a future booking within 12 months.
- Cancellations 14-29 days before the event: Deposit is forfeited. No refund or credit.
- Cancellations less than 14 days before the event: Client is responsible for 100% of the contracted amount.
If Jou Jou’s must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (emergency, illness, equipment failure), we will provide a full refund or reschedule at the Client’s preference.
Guest Count and Final Details
- Final guest count is due 7 days before the event.
- Guest count may be increased up to 7 days before the event, subject to availability.
- Guest count may not be reduced by more than 10% from the original estimate within 7 days of the event. Charges are based on the confirmed guest count or actual attendance, whichever is greater.
Pricing and Additional Charges
All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Prices are subject to change for bookings made after the quote expiration.
Additional charges may apply for:
- Events beyond our standard service area (Metro Atlanta)
- Extended service hours beyond the contracted time
- Last-minute menu changes or additions
- Special equipment or rental requests
- Events requiring additional staff
Any additional charges will be communicated and approved by the Client before the event.
Food Truck Requirements
For food truck bookings, the Client is responsible for:
- Providing a flat, paved surface for the truck
- Ensuring adequate space for the truck (minimum 40 ft length x 12 ft width, plus clearance)
- Access to the location at least 1 hour before the event start time
- Obtaining any necessary permits for the event location
If the location is inaccessible or unsuitable for the truck upon arrival, the booking fee is non-refundable.
Food Safety and Allergies
Jou Jou’s prepares food in a kitchen that handles common allergens including but not limited to: shellfish, fish, nuts, dairy, wheat, and soy.
- We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
- Clients are responsible for informing guests of potential allergens.
- Please notify us of any known allergies at least 7 days before the event so we can accommodate where possible.
Jou Jou’s is not liable for allergic reactions or adverse effects resulting from the consumption of our food.
Liability
Jou Jou’s carries general liability insurance for our catering operations.
We are not responsible for:
- Illness or injury resulting from food allergies not disclosed to us
- Damage to the event venue caused by third parties or guests
- Delays or cancellations due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to: severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, power outages, or government restrictions
- Personal property left at the event site
Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Les Cayes LLC and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims arising from the event, except those caused by our gross negligence.
Weather Policy (Food Truck Events)
Food truck events are subject to weather conditions.
- In the event of severe weather (thunderstorms, high winds, extreme heat advisories), we may need to cancel or modify service for safety reasons.
- If we cancel due to weather, Client may reschedule or receive a full refund.
- If Client cancels due to weather less than 24 hours before the event, standard cancellation terms apply.
Leftovers and Equipment
- Any leftover food becomes the property of the Client at the end of service.
- Jou Jou’s is not responsible for providing storage containers for leftovers unless arranged in advance.
- All serving equipment, chafing dishes, and supplies provided by Jou Jou’s remain our property and must be returned or made available for pickup.
Service Area
Jou Jou’s serves Metro Atlanta and surrounding areas. Events outside our standard service area may be subject to a travel fee. Service area and travel fees will be confirmed at the time of booking.
Photography and Promotion
Jou Jou’s may take photographs of our food, setup, and food truck at events for use in marketing materials, social media, and our website. No photographs of guests will be used without permission. If you prefer that we do not photograph at your event, please notify us in writing before the event date.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website. The terms in effect at the time of your booking will apply to your event.
